Using the NO. 1 Bilong cucumber seedling as the reaserching seedling,we investigate the effect of different concentration of imbibant on characteristics of nursery block. The result indicated that :the forming effect,wet bulk density and the ventilation porosity of the nursery block were negative correlation with the addment of imbibant. The experiment of cucumber seedling indicated :with the increasing of the imbibant,the quantity and the ratio of cucumber seedlings were al2 so influenced,after the first increase in the trend of lower. The reason was that too much imbibant will affect the matrix ventilation of the emergence and growth. If the volume ratio of peat and imbibant was 200∶2,it will not only has good nursery block molding effects,but also can guarantee the quality of seedlings.
