Abstract

Chromium(Cr)effects the growth of wheat plants(Triticum aestivum L.)badly.In this experiment, the effects of Cr toxicityon Chloraphyll content, root activity, malondialdehyde(MDA) content and antioxidative eniymes activity in seedlings were investigated to clarify different Cr resistibility in three wheat cultivars. The results showed:with the increase of Cr concentration, the germination potential, germination percentage, root length and shoot length increased first then declined.Under the same Cr concentration treatment, the characteristics of germination energy, germination percentage and shoot length presented Xinmai 19 >Aikang 58 > Yumai 18 the characteristics of root length presented Yumai 18 > Xinmai 19 >Aikang 581150 mg/L chromium treatment, chlorophyll content, root activities inhibitied heavy exposed to excess Cr.MDA content,SOD and POD content increased significantly in wheat shoots exposed to excess Cr.The SOD and POD activity also differed for the three cultivars.Cr stress significant promoted SOD and POD content in Yumai18 than Xinmai 19 and Aikang 58.
